Raster vs. Vector Art

  • VECTOR ART is the preferred format for screen printing and making screens.
  • These formats include les done in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. (they usually have a eps or ai after the file name).
  • PLEASE CHANGE ALL FONTS TO OUTLINES BEFORE SENDING. Failure to do so will result in font substitution other words Our computers will substitute the ugliest fonts they can find in place of the original intended font!
  •  PLEASE INCLUDE DIMENSIONS FOR THE FINISHED SIZE OF THE ARTWORK. Note: the advantage vector les have over raster les is that they can be reduced to postage stamp size or enlarged to the size of a billboard while remaining sharp!
  •  OTHER FORMATS: RASTER ART includes files done in Photoshop and some online platforms. Formats are usually: tif , jpeg, png, bmp. Miminum resolution for these formats is 300 ppi.  Please save 1 color artwork in bitmap/tif option. Choosing CYMK, RGB, or GRAYSCALE will result in extremely large files and fuzzy looking artwork. If doing multi color artwork assign a PMS color or channel to each color in the file in separate layers.
  • Note: Raster artwork does not look sharp when enlarged so please do the artwork at 100% Please save at a minimum ppi of 300.
  •  A WORD ABOUT JPGS and art created in online apps: If this is your only format option, don't worry we can rebuild your file to vector art at a cost of $65.00 per hr.
  • All artwork generated at Full Service Graphics will be submitted via email in jpg format or pdf for art approval by the customer.
  •  No final films or screens will be made until we receive an approval.

At Full Service Graphics we believe starting with the sharpest art format makes a better screen that makes a difference in the final screen print!
